About Connie Cody

Connie Cody serves as Member of Parliament for Cambridge. She was appointed Associate Shadow Minister for Ethics and Accountable Government, chairs the Canada–Germany Interparliamentary Group, and is Vice Chair of the Canada–Armenia and Canada–Albania Friendship Groups.

Since being sworn in, Connie has built a strong legislative record. Her first bill, S-1001, was the earliest passed by any MP elected in this Parliament — just six months after her election. She currently sponsors Bill C-271, the Protecting Canada’s Essential Infrastructure Metals Act.

Born and raised in Cambridge, Connie is the daughter of immigrant parents from Eastern Europe who came to Canada in search of freedom, opportunity, and a better life. Her father began his first job as an electrician in Ayr. Her parents taught her a deep respect for hard work, perseverance, and giving back — values that continue to guide her work today.

Connie is determined to bring hope and opportunity to families and businesses in Cambridge and North Dumfries. She believes strongly in responsive, community-based representation and looks forward to continued engagement with her constituents.

Before entering public life, Connie built a career in systems architecture and technology, leading projects that streamlined operations, improved reporting, and reduced costs. Her background in database management and financial systems gives her a practical, results-driven approach to problem-solving.

As a longtime community advocate, Connie has supported local schools, volunteered through the Kiwanis Club, and served on the City of Cambridge’s Environmental and Accessibility Advisory Committees. She has also contributed to the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Grant Review Team, advocated for fair budgeting through the Cambridge Taxpayers Support Group, raised awareness about child exploitation, and supported veterans through the Royal Canadian Legion – Galt Branch.

Connie lives in Cambridge with her husband of over 30 years, a lifelong resident who works in the transportation industry. They are proud parents of two daughters and grandparents to five granddaughters.
